HOW DOES SOFWAVE WORK?
Sofwave’s unique SUPERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) technology generates heat at 1.5 mm in the mid-dermis, the exact depth that is optimal for wrinkle reduction, while bypassing the surface of the skin. For this reason, there is no downtime associated with Sofwave although you may experience redness for a few hours after treatment.
The impacted treatment zones stimulate a healing response, called neo-collagenases, which regenerates and increases collagen in the skin, leading to the reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
Who is an ideal candidate?
Sofwave is meant for anyone with mild to moderate laxity who wants to tighten the skin of their face/neck and to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This device has also been approved by the FDA to treat cellulite short-term as well as acne scarring.
The device is non-invasive and safe to use on all skin types, including dark skin. Sofwave is easily tolerated by most. We apply a topical numbing cream to areas that will be treated to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

As a medical dermatology practice, skin health and safety is always our top priority. Sofwave allows for real-time skin temperature monitoring so that our providers can deliver precise energy to the skin without risking any harm to the surface or underlying tissue structure.

When AND WHAT KIND OF RESULTS WILL I SEE?
The collagen regeneration process typically takes up to 12 weeks. While some patients have reported skin tautness as quickly as the first week after treatment, we expect patients to see continuous improvements after 3 months.
In clinical studies, 88% of patients demonstrated improvement in the appearance of facial wrinkles and neck lines 12 weeks after a single Sofwave treatment. Some patients may need a second treatment to achieve desired results.
How long is a typical treatment?
A full face treatment typically takes about 30 - 45 minutes, and a full face treatment plus neck will typically take 45 - 60 minutes. Most patients arrive an hour prior to treatment for the application of a topical numbing cream to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible.
